Patricia Lavon (Tucker) Sanders Obituary Funeral services for Patricia Sanders, 58 year old Woodward Ok. resident, will be Wednesday, October 29, 2008 qt 10 AM. in the Woodward Church of the Nazarene. The Reverend Brian Sorensen will officiate. Interment will follow at 4:00 P.M. in the Ethel Reece East Cemetery at Barnsdall, Oklahoma with arrangements entrusted to Billings Funeral Home of Woodward. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening, from 5:00 P.M. untill 7:00 P.M.
Patricia (Pat) Lavon Sanders was born on July 3, 1950 at Paragould, Arkansas to Joseph Russell and Ramona Fleta (Napier) Tucker. Pat spent her growing up years at Bartlesville, Oklahoma, where she attended school and graduated from Sooner High School in 1968. To further her education she attended one year at Draughons School of Business in Tulsa.
On June 26, 1971 Pat was united in marriage to William (Bill) C. Sanders at Bartlesville. To this most happy union two childen were born; Leslie Jo and Daniel Charles. Their first home was in Bartlesville, until Bill's work took them to Denver City, Texas. While in Denver City, Pat operated a cake decorating business for 5 years. She also served as office manager for U.S.Cable of West Texas. From there they moved to Ardmore, Oklahoma and Pat served as secretary for the vice president of the Holden Energy Corporation. In 1988 they moved to Riverside, California. In 1989, Bill was then transferred to Woodward.
Pat served as a secretary-bookeeper for R & C Drilling until 1991 then became office manager for Weder Services. Her last employment was with the White Dental Clinic. In her leisure time, Pat enjoyed going fishing, flying,reading, quilting, doing genealogical research and using her computer. She and Bill were members of the Christian Motorcyclists Association wher they found such good fellowship.
Pat had a strong faith in the Lord and this faith is what sustained her through the months of her illness. She was an active member of the Woodward Church of the Nazarene, where she taught Sunday school and led small groups. Pat went home to heaven Saturday morning, October 25, 2008. She was 58 years of age.
She is survived by her husband Bill of Woodward, her daughter Leslie Stevens of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, her son Daniel Sanders and wife Kimmy of Weatherford, Texas; her parents, Joe and Ramona Tucker of Bartlesville,Ok.; one brother Ron Tucker and wife Carol of Barnsdall,Ok.; other relatives and many friends. She ws preceeded in deaath by two brothers, Billy Joe and David Lee.
